With the allegations of extra transactions from accounts and accountability on customer account details towards Bank of Maldives BML, the parliamentary group member Mr Mohamed Haitham has requested BML representation at the parliament to address complaints from locals.

Member Mr Mohamed Haitham has tweeted his letter to the speaker of the parliament, Mr Mohamed Nasheed, requesting BML representation at the parliament to address circulating complaints from locals on social media.

In his letter to the speaker of the parliament, he has noted that the state owned public limited companies should be more keen on addressing local's inquiries and so far it seems the local’s concerns are not addressed by BML.

From social media, locals have raised concerns over the unrecognised transactions going from an MVR 100 or below. During the month of august, locals have raised concerns over double transactions charged over the same purchase as well.

As these allegations got increased over the social media, BML finally addressed it denying the allegations.

“Transactions deducted recently from accounts are genuine transactions that were on hold and not processed earlier.” said BML in a tweet.

BML has suggested to submit a Card Transaction Dispute form if anyone has noticed any unauthorised transactions.
