At least 16 people, including several children and women, were killed in Israeli air strikes across Gaza on Sunday, according to the territory's civil defense agency.

Six people died in overnight bombings in Khan Yunis governorate, with two boys aged five and two among the victims found in an apartment in Al-Mawasi, civil defense spokesman Mahmud Bassal said. Later, 10 more were killed in a strike on a tent in the same area, including a child and seven women.

The Israeli military has not issued a direct response to the incident but said in a morning statement that it had struck over 100 "terrorist targets" in the past two days, claiming to have uncovered weapons caches and killed multiple militants.

Israel resumed its offensive in Gaza on March 18, following a two-month truce. The health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza reports that 2,436 people have been killed since then, pushing the overall war death toll to 52,535.

Israel has also blocked aid deliveries, accusing Hamas of diverting supplies. UN agencies continue to urge Israel to lift restrictions, warning of a deepening humanitarian crisis and the risk of famine.
