Billionaire Elon Musk says he plans to take legal action against Apple, accusing the tech giant of excluding his social media platform X and its Grok AI chatbot from its “Must Have” section in the App Store.

In posts on X late Monday, Musk questioned why X, which he claimed is the “#1 news app in the world,” and Grok, ranked fifth overall, were not featured. “Are you playing politics? What gives?” he wrote, adding that Apple’s practices make it “impossible for any AI company besides OpenAI to reach #1,” calling it an “unequivocal antitrust violation.”

Grok is developed by Musk’s artificial intelligence startup, xAI. Apple has not yet commented on the allegations.

The dispute comes as Apple faces growing scrutiny over its App Store policies. This year, the European Union fined Apple €500 million for breaking competition rules, and last year imposed a nearly \$2 billion fine for unfairly favoring its music streaming service over rivals. In the U.S., a judge recently ruled Apple violated an injunction in an antitrust case brought by Fortnite maker Epic Games.

As of Tuesday morning, TikTok topped Apple’s App Store, followed by Tinder, Duolingo, YouTube, and Bumble. OpenAI’s ChatGPT ranked seventh.
