June 07, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 552 additional cases of Covid-19.

The total positive cases recorded include 271 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 281 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 31 people are positive from operational resorts, and 249 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 68,502 cases, including 18,462 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 5,043 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 1,758 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 49,844.

According to HPA, there are 164 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 187 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 312,133 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 173,291 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
