Edelweiss resumes flights to the Maldives with its first scheduled flight that arrived on 27th September 2020.
A total of 33,829 tourist arrivals were recorded from Switzerland to Maldives in 2019, making Switzerland the 13th highest performing market in terms of tourist arrivals to Maldives as well as one of the important traditional markets. Hence resuming flights between both the countries would be an additional advantage while Maldives works towards restoring its tourism sector amidst the pandemic.
Commenting on the resumed flights, Patrick Heymann, Chief Commercial Officer of Edelweiss said “Over 1,200 islands in the Indian Ocean with its crystal clear water offer divers and snorkelers a breathtaking backdrop. Almost nowhere is there so much privacy as on the many beautiful, small islands.”
Flights between Switzerland and Maldives can currently be booked for travel till September 2021 through the website: flyedelweiss.com
