Education Minister Dr. Aishath Ali has stated that the current government gives special importance to children with special needs.

Speaking to begin the seminar on facilitating education for children with special needs, the Minister said the government attaches special importance to providing education and skills to children with special needs.

The Minister said that as such, a learning recovery strategy is being developed and training required by schools is being provided.

The Minister said that today's work meeting is part of it. And that she is working with the institutions to bring students' learning to the pre-COVID level.

“We really want to listen to you children, discuss ways to further shape your learning and plan our policies accordingly,” said the Minister.

The Minister said that even during the pandemic, the Ministry of Education has made a lot of effort to provide education ceaselessly through teleclasses.

In particular, the Minister noted that schools have provided lessons to students with special needs and conducted many activities with the assistance of parents taking into account the circumstances of individual children.
