The state has collected MVR 3.5 billion in taxes so far this year, of which BPT accounts for the largest share according to statistics.
According to statistical reports released by the Finance Ministry, the government has received MVR 4.1 billion in revenue and grants so far this year. Of this, MVR 3.5 billion was tax revenue.
Of the MVR 3.5 billion in taxes, MVR 1.2 billion came from TGST and MVR 410.5 million came from General Goods and Services Tax.
While import duty collection stood at MVR 310.7 million, BPT collection stood at MVR 1.3 billion.
Other taxes include green tax at MVR 102.9 million and airport development charge at MVR 89.6 million.
Non-tax revenue stood at MVR 639.8 million, including MVR 249.9 million in various fees and charges.
