President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu met with the Kan'duhulhudhoo Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) to discuss the grievances of residents. The meeting took place at the North Huvadhu Atoll Kan'duhulhudhoo Council Secretariat this afternoon.
During the discussion, council members raised critical infrastructure concerns, including harbour limitations, the unfinished multipurpose hall, and the need for football ground renovations. Additionally, issues with the health centre's accessibility ramp and electrical system were highlighted.
President Muizzu assured the council and WDC that the government is committed to finding solutions to these challenges. Accompanying ministers provided updates on ongoing development projects on the island.
Looking ahead, the President announced that dredging work for Kan'duhulhudhoo is scheduled to begin next year. He stated that while he does not anticipate the dredging project commencing this year, he is hopeful it will be included in next year's budget.
Furthermore, he revealed plans to implement a housing project in Kan'duhulhudhoo by 2027 at the latest, following the completion of the land reclamation process.
