Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has described the commencement of direct flights between the Maldives and Azerbaijan as a significant success in boosting tourism and strengthening bilateral ties.
The Vice President made the remarks during a courtesy call from Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elnur Mammadov, at the President’s Office this morning.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including climate change, culture, trade, and tourism. The President’s Office stated that the discussions aimed to further deepen relations between the two nations.
Diplomatic ties between the Maldives and Azerbaijan were established on June 15, 2006.
