President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu officially inaugurated the Rasgetheemu Council's new office building today during his three-day visit to the North Maalhosmadulu Atoll.

Speaking at the ceremony held in Rasgetheemu, the President highlighted the challenges faced by the council due to the destruction of its previous office building. The council had been operating from a rented space on the island. With the completion of the new office building, these issues have been resolved, providing the council with a permanent and fully functional facility.

Construction of the Rasgetheemu Council office began in 2023 as part of the government’s broader initiative to enhance local governance infrastructure. The President emphasized that the government remains committed to addressing space-related challenges faced by councils across the nation.

Additionally, a Malaysian company has been contracted to construct 55 new council buildings across the country, further supporting the decentralization of administration and improving services at the community level.
