The Government of the Maldives has welcomed the outcomes of the Arab Six-Party Consultative Meeting held in Cairo, expressing strong support for efforts to maintain the ceasefire in Gaza and calling for the swift delivery of humanitarian aid.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Maldives urged all parties to ensure the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement and emphasized the importance of unhindered access to aid for relief, shelter, and recovery in Gaza. "It is essential that humanitarian assistance reaches all affected areas without delay," the statement read.
The government also voiced support for an upcoming international conference on Gaza's reconstruction. Highlighting its longstanding position on the Palestinian issue, the Maldives urged the global community to take decisive steps toward implementing the two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine.
The Maldives reiterated its commitment to regional peace and stability, aligning with international efforts to rebuild Gaza and ensure the protection of Palestinian rights.
