Minister of Construction, Housing, and Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Mutalib met with Indian Ambassador to the Maldives, G. Balasubramanian, to discuss accelerating the Thilamale' Bridge project and other ongoing infrastructure initiatives.
The Ministry highlighted that the meeting focused on fast-tracking the Thilamale' Bridge, one of the most significant infrastructure projects currently underway in the Maldives. Both sides also discussed opportunities for future collaboration in national infrastructure development.
As of November last year, 46.58 percent of the bridge was reported complete. The project, initiated during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration, aims to connect Malé, Villimalé, Thilafushi, and Gulhifalhu, enhancing connectivity across the Greater Malé Region.
Efforts to expedite the project underscore the continued cooperation between Maldives and India in key developmental endeavors critical to the nation's progress.
