The Racing Association of the Maldives (RAM) has been granted membership in the International Automobile Federation (FIA), marking a significant milestone for the country's motorsports sector.
RAM was elected as a member during a vote held at the FIA Annual General Meeting in Rwanda on December 13 last year.
President of RAM, Mohamed Shamil, stated that the membership opens new doors for the development of motorsports in the Maldives. He highlighted that FIA membership provides access to international resources, expertise, and recognition, allowing RAM to enhance safety standards and best practices in local motorsport events.
Additionally, the membership enables RAM to participate in FIA's development programs and compete in international competitions, further strengthening the Maldives' presence in the global motorsports arena.
