Israel has launched a significant military campaign against Iran, targeting critical nuclear and military infrastructure in and around Tehran. The operation, named “Rising Lion”, reportedly involved coordinated airstrikes and covert operations attributed to Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency.

According to Iranian media reports, the attack resulted in the death of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami, along with two prominent nuclear scientists—Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi and Fereydoun Abbasi. Several other senior military personnel and academic figures were also reported among the casualties.

The Israeli military stated that numerous fighter jets were involved in precision strikes aimed at nuclear sites, missile production facilities, and secured government compounds. Explosions were heard across the Iranian capital, prompting authorities to shut down the country’s airspace amid rising tensions.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the operation as a “decisive moment” for Israel's security, reaffirming that the mission would continue as long as necessary to neutralize perceived threats. The United States has publicly denied any involvement in the operation and urged Tehran to avoid escalating the situation, particularly against American interests in the region.
