President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling all presidential pledges to the people of Baa Atoll Goidhoo, unveiling a series of major projects during his visit to the island.
He announced that the harbour development tender will be issued this month, with construction to start this year, while coastal protection works are planned for 2026. Powerhouse upgrades, a fully equipped health centre, and the first phase of school expansion are set for completion this year, with a multi-purpose hall to follow in early 2026.
The President said a football field and Fitness and Recreation Centre will be built within months, eco-tourism projects launched this year, and a resort development agreement for Goidhoo lagoon signed by month’s end. Land allotment permissions have also been granted.
During the visit, President Muizzu inaugurated Bank of Maldives ATM services and laid the foundation for the new Goidhoo Police Station.
