President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has urged Maldivians to safeguard the country’s cultural and historical legacy for future generations as the nation marked National Heritage Day.
In a post on X, he highlighted Islam, the Dhivehi language, traditions, local craftsmanship, heritage sites, and national history as the most valuable elements of Maldivian heritage, stressing that they have been passed down through generations and must be preserved.
First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also shared a message on X, describing Maldivians as a people rooted in discipline, industriousness, and strong values. She emphasized that the Dhivehi language, cultural traditions, and heritage sites inherited from forefathers are a responsibility to be passed on to future generations.
