President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has assured that the long-awaited airport in F. Magoodhoo will be completed within the next 12 months.
The President gave the assurance on Sunday morning while addressing residents at the Magoodhoo Social Centre during his tour of four atolls. Members of the Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee, and local residents highlighted the urgency of completing the project, urging the Government to avoid further delays.
In response, President Muizzu pledged that all components of the airport would be finalized within a year. He also announced that construction of a multipurpose school hall and a health centre will begin this year, while harbour upgrades are included in next year’s budget.
As part of his visit, the President inaugurated a Bank of Maldives ATM and presided over groundbreaking ceremonies for a Fitness and Recreation Centre, the Magoodhoo Island Council Secretariat, and a new police post.
