During the final court hearing today the High Court has ordered the review of the dismissed seven charges from the criminal court, against the former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb.
The High Court ordered the review of the dismissed cases against corruption in Maldives Marketing and Public Relation after the government's appeal. Adeeb is accused of embezzlement and participation in the scandal, misuse of official capacity, money laundering, and obtaining unfair advantages.
It has been ordered to the criminal court to decide on Adeeb’s detainment in 15 days, until then Adeeb will be following the High Court's order and stay detained in prison. The High Court bench which accepted the appeal case consists of Justices Mohamed Niyaz, Shuaib Hussain Zakariyya, and Hussain Mazeed.
