April 5, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 127 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.
The total positive cases recorded include 64 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 63 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 14 people are positive from operational resorts, and 46 people are positive from inhabited islands.
With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 24,908 cases, including 3,059 active cases to Covid-19.
So far, HPA has taken 3,237 test samples within the last 24 hours.
HPA also reported that 127 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 21,773.
According to HPA, there are 90 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 67 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
In addition to this, a total of 5,753 people across the Maldives have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, Covishield. Out of this, 2,016 people were vaccinated today.
According to HPA, 251,139 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of this, 4,243 people were vaccinated today.
