President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed planted coconut palms in Dhuvaafaru, North Maalhosmadulu, as part of the ongoing Five Million Tree Programme.

The initiative, launched by the President, aims to plant five million trees nationwide to protect the Maldives’ fragile ecosystems and combat climate change. The programme aligns with the strategic action plan of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment.

So far, a total of 967,431 plants of various species have been planted across the country. The planting in Dhuvaafaru is part of the President and First Lady’s ongoing tour of the island.
