During a special event held today at the Auditor General’s Office, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives) launched their Strategic Plan for the years 2021 through 2023.
The Strategic Plan was unveiled by chief guest Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, and speaking at the ceremony, the chief guest he noted the demand for local accounting and finance professionals in the tourism industry. He also appreciated the commendable work and commitment of CA Maldives in championing the idea of localizing the accounting profession in the country.
Speaking at the ceremony President of CA Maldives and the Auditor General Hassan Ziyath stated that this strategy will help develop a strong framework for the functioning of CA Maldives and to achieve the strategic development goals.
The three year strategic plan is aimed at building the institutional capacity of CA Maldives to deliver its mandate and achieve financial independence and global recognition, whilst making all possible efforts to develop accounting profession and build the capacity of local accountants in par with the international standards.
In addition to this a special panel discussion was held on the topic “The Importance of Sustainable Business Practices for Economic Growth”. Panellists included Tourism Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, CEO of CMDA Mr. Mohamed Hussain Manik and Vice President of CA Maldives Mr. Hassan Mohamed.
