September 9th; (HPA) Health Protection Agency of the Maldives; reports 93 positive cases within 24hours. This includes 67 Maldivians and 26 Foreigners.

Total of positive cases records 86 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 7 people infected outside the greater Male’ area.

With the new update, as per (HPA) Health Protection Agency of the Maldives; the total infected cases to Covid-19 has reached up to 8,834 in the Maldives. This includes 2,509 active cases to Covid-19 in Maldives right now.

HPA also reported recovery of 131 infected people adding up to 6,288 as total recovered cases in Maldives.

Currently there are active Covid-19 cases in 21 resorts and in 25 residential islands outside of the greater Male’ area. So far 17 Tourists and 48 staff have been tested positive to covid-19 in the resorts.

Along with HPA’s announcement of 2 more deaths due Covid-19 complications, Maldives has reached a total of 31 deaths from Covid-19.

HPA identified the deceased as a 60-year-old Maldivian man who was admitted in ICU, Hulhumale’ Medical Facility and a 58-year-old Maldivian man who was undergoing cancer and in quarantine in Ha. Kelaa.
