April 17, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 124 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 78 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 46 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 12 people are positive from operational resorts, and 33 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 26,145 cases, including 2,585 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 2,503 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 122 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 23,482.

According to HPA, there are 53 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 69 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 278,069 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 35,294 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
