The Government of Maldives and the Government of Kuwait have signed two Memorandums of Understanding, at a ceremony held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, in Kuwait City.

The two agreements signed were an MoU on Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, and an MoU between the Government of the Republic of the Maldives and the Government of the State of Kuwait in the Field of Tourism. The MoUs were signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid on behalf of the Maldives, and Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of the State of Kuwait, Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on behalf of Kuwait.

The MoUs are expected to further strengthen the close ties of friendship between Maldives and Kuwait in developing cooperation in the field of tourism, promoting further collaborations and exchanges, and facilitating the effective implementation of key understandings and agreements reached by the Governments of the two countries.
