The state releases 283.2 Million MVR as covid-19 relief loan for Small to Medium Enterprises through SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC).
Maldives Finance Ministry has stated that covid-19 relief loan has been granted for 1,720 Small to Medium Enterprises by September 17th. Although 3.456 applied for the loan, 557 applications have been rejected for different reasons.
Finance ministry says that it has been planned to support the Small to Medium Enterprises in, tourism industry with 51.9 million MVR, transportation industry with 19.2 million MVR, and 17.2 million MVR for personal private businesses, under covid-19 relief loan. So far 1,671 people applied for personal private businesses but 575 applications were rejected.
Apart from this, the state has released 79.2 million MVR as income support allowance.
