May 11, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 1501 additional cases of Covid-19 along with 662 cases reported within the last 24 hours and the rest from backlogged pending samples taken earlier this month.

The total positive cases recorded include 1,229 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 272 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 07 people are positive from operational resorts, and 265 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 38,520 cases, including 11,829 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 6,208 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 248 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 26,765.

According to HPA, there are 247 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 87 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 301,707 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 136,205 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
