The total number of Covid-19 fatalities has risen to 104, with 3 fatalities reported this Monday.
As per the Health Protection Agency (HPA), today a 73-year-old Maldivian female admitted at DH11 passed away at 12:10 pm. This was confirmed as the 104th Covid-19 death in the Maldives.
Maldives reported the first death to Covid-19 on April 29 last year. Meanwhile, this May has seen the highest number of Covid-19 fatalities in the Maldives. As per the statistics, a total of 91 locals and 13 foreigners have passed away from Covid-19 complications.
With a surge in Covid-19 infections in recent weeks, over 56 residential islands outside of the greater Male' region are placed under monitoring. So far, Maldives has recorded 45,956 positive cases and 28,849 recoveries.
