May 18, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 1465 additional cases of Covid-19 along with 517 cases reported within the last 24 hours and rest from backlogged pending samples taken earlier this month.
The total positive cases recorded include 1,212 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 252 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 08 people are positive from operational resorts, and 244 people are positive from inhabited islands.
With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 47,421 cases, including 18,221 active cases to Covid-19.
So far, HPA has taken 3,703 test samples within the last 24 hours.
HPA also reported that 237 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 29,086.
According to HPA, there are 268 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 105 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
In addition to this, a total of 303,919 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 147,682 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
