May 19, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 1187 additional cases of Covid-19 along with 438 cases reported within the last 24 hours and the rest from backlogged pending samples taken earlier this month.
The total positive cases recorded include 965 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 222 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 06 people are positive from operational resorts, and 214 people are positive from inhabited islands.
With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 48,608 cases, including 18,843 active cases to Covid-19.
So far, HPA has taken 3,771 test samples within the last 24 hours.
HPA also reported that 558 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 29,644.
According to HPA, there are 274 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 112 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
In addition to this, a total of 304,394 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 149,435 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
