May 20, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 2194 additional cases of Covid-19 along with 691 cases reported within the last 24 hours and the rest from backlogged pending samples taken earlier this month.

The total positive cases recorded include 1,698 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 496 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 29 people are positive from operational resorts, and 467 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 50,802 cases, including 20,276 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 7,259 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 759 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 30,403.

According to HPA, there are 280 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 114 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 304,681 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 151,079 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
