The cargo ship from the recently established Maldives-India cargo ferry service link reached H.Dh Kulhudhuffushi port at approximately 06:30 am today.
As this cargo ship was too huge for the Kulhudhuffushi port, the Maldivian agent for the Maldives-India cargo ferry service link, Maldives state shipping (MSS) decided to use a barge or a tugboat to unload more than 500 tonnes of cargo carried in it. The cargo carried in included 500 tonnes of cement and other goods.
The cargo ship MV MCP Linz, used in the cargo ferry service link between Maldives and India, has the capacity to carry 380 TEUs and 3,000 metric tonnes of bulk cargo, and was departed on 22nd September from India.
Kulhudhuffushi was scheduled to celebrate the ship’s journey to the city, but the celebrations have been postponed as Kulhudhuffushi has been under monitoring following the identification of a covid-19 case in the city on Friday.
The cargo ship will continue its trip to Male’ from Kulhudhuffushi before starting its journey back to India.
