Speaking at the recent press release of the Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC), Dr Nazla Rafeeg said that the number of planned gatherings and picnics have increased amidst the pandemic.
Further speaking, Dr Nazla said that the current decrease in numbers shows that the situation in Maldives is moving towards a green zone, but if the set guidelines are not followed, there could be a delay in reaching the green zone. Hence it is too soon to consider that the pandemic is over and stop following the guidelines.
Dr Nazla urged to continue to follow the guidelines set to prevent further spreading of Covid-19.
HPA has set guidelines to decrease further spreading of the virus in the greater Male’ area, which includes no vehicle after 8pm and curfew from 10pm onwards along with mandatory wearing of masks in public areas.
