August 15, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 137 additional cases of Covid-19.

The recorded positive cases include 30 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 107 people outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 15 people are positive from operational resorts, and 92 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 79,137 cases, including 1,626 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 5,151 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 246 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 77,277.

According to HPA, there are 20 admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 222 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 343,901 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 295,039 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
