Maldives, Pakistan, and Turkey are among the eight countries that will be removed from the United Kingdom's red list, the country's Secretary of State for Transport Rt Hon Grant Shapps said Friday.
The other countries that will go off the Red List are Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Egypt, Kenya, and Oman.
Sharing on Twitter, Rt Hon Grant Shapps said eight countries and territories will come off the red list from Wednesday 22 September, including Turkey, Pakistan, and the Maldives. He also said that a new simplified system for international travel will be introduced, replacing the current approach with a single red list and simplified measures for the rest of the world, striking the right balance to manage the public health risk.
In addition, as per UK new guidelines, from 4 October onwards, fully vaccinated people will not need a pre-departure test before arrival into England from a non-red country and from later in October.
