President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has instructed all government offices to use the "Golden Year of Tourism 2022" logo -- designed to commemorate the golden jubilee of the country’s tourism sector -- in all official correspondence starting January 1, 2022.
President Solih made the decision at the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.
The Ministry of Tourism unveiled the logo which will be used to celebrate and promote the country’s Golden Jubilee Year of Tourism early in March 2021. The year 2022 will mark the 50th anniversary of the Maldives tourism industry.
The unique logo was designed by Ahmed Nashath and Mohamed Azlif, and it symbolizes the Maldives’ rich environment, culture, and heritage. The logo would also be used in Maldives' tourism destination promotion events held abroad.
The Ministry of Tourism, in partnership with industry partners and stakeholders, would hold grand celebrations next year to mark the golden jubilee anniversary.
