Tourism Minister, acting Housing Minister, Mr Mohamed Aslam said that if hit by another wave of Covid-19 could take almost 2 months to decrease positive cases and recover.
Answering a question from a parliament member, referring to the current decrease in numbers from the second of Covid-19 Minister Aslam said that the number of positive cases per day can be decreased and maintained below 40 cases per day, if we do not experience another wave of Covid-19.
Positive cases started increasing from right after the initial locked down period. The positive cases were recorded up to 100 - 200 cases per day. Meanwhile, once again the positive cases reported per day are decreasing in number.
As per the recent reports of the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives, since October 1st, the highest positive cases recorded in a day was 67 positive cases.
So far, Maldives has recorded a total of 10,567 positive cases and recovery of 9,427 infected people.
