January 07: The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 281 additional cases of Covid-19.

The recorded positive cases include 100 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 181 people outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 89 people are positive from operational resorts, and 88 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 97,331 cases, including 3,086 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 3,601 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 103 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 93,968.

According to HPA, there are 12 admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 264 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 396,941 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 368,047 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
