January 16: The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 1200 additional cases of Covid-19.

The recorded positive cases include 514 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 440 people outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 36 people are positive from operational resorts, and 326 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 102,372 cases, including 4,877 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 7,237 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 354 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 97,217.

According to HPA, there are 23 admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 265 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 396,941 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 368,047 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
