January 17: The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 1594 additional cases of Covid-19.
The recorded positive cases include 857 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 737 people outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 118 people are positive from operational resorts, and 438 people are positive from inhabited islands.
With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 106,595 cases, including 8,079 active cases to Covid-19.
So far, HPA has taken 5,870 test samples within the last 24 hours.
HPA also reported that 508 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 98,238.
According to HPA, there are 40 admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 265 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
