October 16th; the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives reports 41 positive cases from 1,366 samples taken within 24 hours. This includes 37 Maldivians and 04 Foreigners.

A total of positive cases records 34 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 07 people infected outside the greater Male’ area.

With additional cases of the COVID-19, confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldives have increased up to 11,154. This includes 1,117 active cases to COVID-19 in the Maldives.

HPA also reported the recovery of 64 infected people in the last 24 hours, which adds up to a total of 9,995 people recovered.

There are active COVID-19 cases in 19 resorts and in 20 residential islands outside of the greater Male’ area. The active cases in resorts include 15 Tourists and 25 staff.

Maldives has recorded 35 deaths due to complications of Covid-19.
