Parliament Member and the famous lawyer, Uz. Moosa Siraj has stated that there is no longer danger in getting the permit to practice as the lawyer to be dismissed.

Congratulating the 277 lawyers who took their oath yesterday, he urged them to criticize independently for imperfections in the laws and guidelines as there is more assurance on the permit to practice as a lawyer.

In a tweet sending his best wishes to the lawyers, MP Siraj remembered when his oath was taken in 2015 when he had doubts about the guarantee of the permit to practice as a lawyer. He had referred to this back when there was a history of lawyers losing their permits/licenses for criticizing laws and setting guidelines.

The 277 lawyers who took their oath on Saturday, following the amendments brought to the Legal Profession Act exempting the current law graduates from having to sit in the bar exams to obtain their legal license, if they pass a one-month training program run by the Bar Council. Although they are still required to sit in the bar exam once it’s prepared.
