Lawyer Nazim Sattar pleaded guilty to homosexuality in the Criminal Court today.
Former President Mohamed Nasheed's younger brother Nazim Sattar pleaded guilty to the charge of homosexuality at the trial held today.
Nazim was charged with engaging in sexual activity with a Bangladeshi citizen named Alamgir after a leaked video. Although he confessed to having sexual relations with Alamgir, he denied committing adultery.
Meanwhile, the court is yet to decide on a sentence for Nazim this week.
Alamgir, who is also involved in the case, pleaded guilty to the three charges against him and was sentenced to seven months and six days in jail.
Along with Nazim, former MP Mohamed Nasheed (Kaanal Nasheed) and Abdul Rahman Rafeeu, a senior police officer have also been charged with engaging in sexual activity with Alamgir.
A number of others have also been arrested in connection with similar cases.
