The UK government announced including the Maldives in its travel corridors list. Hence the passengers returning from the Maldives will not be needed to serve a mandatory quarantine period upon returning to the UK.

Following the announcement by the UK government, Minister of Tourism, Mr. Abdulla Mausoom, thanked the health teams, related government authorities, travel and tourism partners, and the whole community for the continued dedication to making the Maldives one of the safest destinations in the world.



In response to Minister Mausoom, British High Commissioner to the Maldives, Ms. Caron Rohsler has extended her appreciation to Minister Mausoom for his constructive approach to getting tourism back on track and described it as a terrific effort across many agencies & professions to get us to this point.



Following the announcement by the UK government, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Abdulla Shahid welcomed the decision of the UK government to include the Maldives in its travel corridors list. In his tweet, he also highlighted that the naturally socially distanced islands allow the Maldives to be a safe & tranquil destination for all.

Following an assessment of the latest data, the Canaries, the Maldives, Denmark, and Mykonos have been added to the Travel Corridors list of the UK. Hence from Sunday 25th October onwards, passengers returning from those destinations will not be needed to serve a mandatory quarantine period upon returning to the UK.

The Maldives has also received the Safe Tourism stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council.
