Switzerland has removed the Maldives from their coronavirus high-risk list, hence Starting Thursday, Swiss nationals will no longer need to self-isolate for ten days when returning from the Maldives.

A total of 33,829 tourist arrivals were recorded from Switzerland to the Maldives in 2019, making Switzerland the 13th highest performing market in terms of tourist arrivals to the Maldives as well as one of the important traditional markets.
Switzerland’s decision to allow quarantine free travel to the Maldives also comes just a month after Edelweiss resumed its operations to the Maldives. The Swiss airline Edelweiss now flies twice a week from Zurich directly to Male’.
The Maldives reopened its borders on July 15. As per the records of the Tourism Ministry, 31,852 tourists have arrived in the Maldives since the border reopening.
