A police officer was injured in an accident on the highway of the Sinamale' Bridge today.

The accident happened at around 9:30 am today. The injured police officer is currently being treated at the Hulhumale' Treetop Hospital.

The vehicle that was responsible for the accident had fled the scene without stopping. The injuries sustained by the police officer are yet to be determined.

Police have not yet shared an official statement on the incident.
