Yasir Hassan, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Road Development Corporation Limited (RDC), said in a statement that he had filed defamation claims against local news outlets; Dhiyares and Mihaaru.

The outlets recently circulated “information” on a fat theft that had happened within the state-owned enterprise. The outlets claimed that the CFO deposited money stolen from RDC to his personal accounts.

Denouncing the allegations, the CFO in his statement said, “All relevant audits have been completed without issues or irregularities. All transactions including cash payments are meticulously processed strictly adhering to relevant corporate policies. I confirm that no cash payment was deposited to my account over the past three years”.

He described the recent “circulation of misinformation” by the news outlets as an organized attack against his character and the integrity of RDC.

Yasir promised in his statement that there will be no compromise on the falsehood and appropriate actions will be taken against such slanderous activities now and even in the future.

He also said that RDC is cooperating with investigative authorities who are looking into the allegations of the news outlets.

“We are fully cooperating with relevant authorities and legal experts to ensure a comprehensive examination of the facts”, Yasir ended his statement.
