Former Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated that forcible arrests cannot resolve problems, following the detention of several protesters demanding that the government fish company MIFCO purchase their catch.

Among those arrested was Kendhoo MP Mauroof Zakir, who was taken into custody on charges of disobedience to order. Two other protesters were also detained.

In a post on X, Faisal called for the immediate release of MP Mauroof Zakir and the other fishermen, emphasizing that the protesters were demonstrating peacefully to demand the fulfillment of government promises.

He stressed that the issues raised by the fishermen can only be resolved through dialogue and urged the government to act promptly to address their concerns.
