Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) signs a contract with the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for the Construction of Water and Sewerage facilities in 15 islands and Water facilities in 5 islands under contractor finance basis.
The contract was signed on Monday. Director-General Shana Faarug signed the contract on behalf of the Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure, while on behalf of MWSC, Managing Director Hassan Shah signed the contract.
The 1.3 billion Rufiyaa contract was awarded to MWSC, following the bid process through the Ministry.
According to the terms of the contracts, the water and sewerage facility in 15 islands is expected to be completed within 540 days and the water facility in 5 islands is expected to be completed within 450 days from the work commencement date.
The projects under the contract include:

- A. A. Himandhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 65.83 million
- B. Kamadhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 56.66 million
- B. Maalhos water and sanitation project: MVR 60.45 million
- H. A. Maarandhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 72.81 million
- H. A. Thakandhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 76.45 million
- H. A. Vashafaru water and sanitation project: MVR 78.92 million
- H. Dh. Hirimaradhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 69.14 million
- H. Dh. Kumundhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 102.17 million
- Sh. Goidhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 86.05 million
- N. Maafaru water and sanitation project: MVR 94.42 million
- N. Fodhdhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 58.15 million
- R. Fainu water and sanitation project: MVR 63.34 million
- Lh. Olhuvelifushi water and sanitation project: MVR 80.08 million
- A. Dh. Kunburudhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 45.12 million
- A. A. Mathiveri water project: MVR 38.83 million
- H. A. Muraidhoo water project: MVR 46.85 million
