A 72-year-old local man was declared dead on arrival and tested positive for Covid-19.

The local man who was brought in an unresponsive state to IGMH on Sunday evening was declared dead on arrival; at 6:36 pm. As per the protocol a Covid-19 test was done and came as positive.

Since the test results show positive for Covid-19, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has confirmed that this would be the 45th death from complications of Covid -19.

With the additional death, a total of four deaths have been recorded in 72 hours.

The recent record of HPA has shown that a total of 12,314 Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in the Maldives.
