As per the recent records, 2031 Indian Tourists have arrived to the Maldives, within the last week.
An increase in number of Indian tourist arrival has been recorded following the travel bubble created to facilitate movement of people between India and the Maldives. Under this travel bubble, four airlines of India has resumed flights between the two countries. Hence now, including the Maldives flag carrier Maldivian, Air India, Indigo, GoAir, and Spicejet has continued to schedule flights between the two countries.
Under this travel bubble between the two countries, Indians does not have to quarantine themselves upon returning home.
As per the recent records of the Ministry of Tourism, so far, 59,105 tourists have arrived to the Maldives since the border reopening and as per the records, 5,449 Indian tourists have arrived to the Maldives since the border reopening.
India was the fastest growing source market for Maldives tourism in 2019, as arrivals recorded year-over-year growth of 83.5% to reach 166,015 from 90,474 in 2018.
